RSM Ord takes on the Master Cadet Course

Battalion - Successes

Written by Capt G. Rae Tuesday, 20 April 2010 19:18

2nd Battalion the Highlanders ACF are proud to announce that one of their cadets has passed a prestigious course "with flying colours".

Cadet RSM Lee Ord (18) of the battalion's Scot's Dragoons Guards detachment, based in Aberdeen, attended the Master Cadet Course at the Cadet Training Centre Frimley Park in April.  Of the approximately 40 000 cadets across Britain, only 120 are selected to attend this course, so it is very sought after.

As well as the honour of addressing the mess during the course dinner night, RSM Ord was also selected out of all the candidates to lead the final parade - a very high privilege indeed.

The Army Cadet Force website has an article written by another candidate, with a picture of RSM Ord looking resplendant in his Highland Service Dress Kilt.

Battalion - News

Written by AUO MacKinnon Wednesday, 14 April 2010 21:39

Back home in Aboyne is Cpl Sam Inglis having spent a weekend with his cadet colleagues as part of the Scotland team taking part in the Army Cadet Force Association rugby championships at Brecon in Wales. Scotland were drawn against Wales, South East and South west teams.

In the first match Scotland were narrowly defeated by Wales but gave them a good run for their money. The second match against South East was won with ease by Scotland but unfortunately Scotland were defeated 22-24 by South West.

The Final was played between Wales and South West having beaten all other regional teams in the semi finals. Wales went on to win the final match.

Sam played for the entire duration of all the matches and congratulations are due to him and all members of the Scotland team who were only beaten by the best two teams in the championship.
