CADET RECRUITS WANTED

[MUST HAVE A NEED TO HAVE FUN AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS]

Aged 12 to 18 and in secondary school, feeling bored at nights and weekends, looking for adventure and the opportunity to meet like minded young people make friends and have fun. Well 2 Highlanders Army Cadet Force can provide just that. They have a long and proud history, 150 years this year actually, of developing young people physically and mentally, improving self-confidence, teamwork, friendship, leadership and placing them on the path to good citizenship.

Cadets of all abilities and backgrounds are welcomed and are given the opportunity to access any or all of our activities which include adventurous training, rock climbing, mountain biking, military

Annual Camp Preparation

Battalion - Annual Camp 2010

It may be only March but cadets from 2 Highlanders Army Cadet Force are already busy preparing for their annual summer camp. Among the cadets taking part in the training exercises at Boddam Training Centre during the weekends are a number of cadets from the Banff Detachment.

The cadets are getting their skills up to date before their visit to Strensall in Yorkshire during the last 2 weeks of July where the training will continue before they are tested on the various disciplines in the Army Proficiency Certificate training syllabus. Successful pass marks mean a move to the next grade and promotion for some hard working cadets.

   

Cadet Leadership Course at Frimley Park

National - Cadet Courses

The following CLC Courses are to be held at CTC Frimley between 4-24 Jul 10:

a.Course No 10/01:  4 – 10 Jul 10

b.Course No 10/02:  11 – 17 Jul 10

c.Course No 10/03:  18 – 24 Jul 10 

Aim.  The aim of the course is to develop the cadets’ initiative and self-reliance by exercising them in problems of practical leadership.

Two Star First Aid Training Weekend

First Aid Training - Two Star First Aid

A Two Star First Aid Training weekend will be held over the weekend of 22 - 24 January 2010.

Names are to be submitted to detachment commanders to pass to the Battalion First Aid Training Officer no later than 15 January 2010.

Places on this course are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
